WILL-O’-THE-WISPS 18 in Height

A flame that exited from the ground twirls in all directions as part of a dance of mischievous ignis fatuus (eight in all).

A popular legend, will-o’-the-wisps are wandering flames that astonish unaware travellers that venture on the roads at night. According to popular belief of old, these flames were the souls of people who had died non-believers.

These glimmering lights that one can see twirling at night over marshy grounds and in cemeteries are the result of inflamed gases originating from organic decomposing matter.
